About the role

This role requires to be a self-starter with experience delivering in fast-paced regulated environments and have the ability to translate business requirements into data solutions, work directly with stakeholders, and understanding of data governance and regulatory considerations.
To be successful as a AI Engineer, you should have experience with:
- Data engineering expertise with hands-on experience building production-grade data pipelines, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT processes using modern frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka, dbt) and cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS/Azure - Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Solid technical foundation with proficiency in Python and SQL, experience with DataOps/MLOps practices including data quality monitoring, versioning, CI/CD for data pipelines, and track record of delivering reliable data solutions from concept to production.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure including experience supporting AI applications through vector databases, embedding pipelines, data preparation for LLMs and RAG architectures, and understanding of how data flows support AI workloads.
Some other highly valued skills may include;
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, Scala, Java), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, MCP).
- Experience with streaming data architectures and real-time data processing (Kafka, Flink) to support low-latency AI applications and analytics use cases.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and front-end frameworks (React, JavaScript) to support end-to-end solution delivery and user interfaces.

Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
