Junior Data Engineer
Hybrid – requirement to work from the office every Tuesday.
Salary up to £40,000 with pension, life assurance, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, leasing deals and aftersales services
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, assist with database optimisation, and help build reliable data processes that enable teams across the business to access and use data effectively. Reporting into the Head of Data Engineering, you will gain hands-on experience working with modern data platforms and tools while developing your technical skills within a collaborative and supportive team.

Your Journey as a Junior Data Engineer:
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from a variety of sources
- Assist with implementing data integration processes to support the smooth flow of information across the organisation
- Help manage and optimise databases to support reliable data storage and retrieval
- Contribute to the development of ETL processes that transform raw data into structured and usable formats
- Support the maintenance of data warehouses to ensure data is organised and accessible for reporting and analysis
- Assist with implementing data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Monitor data pipelines and help identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement
- Support the implementation of data security and governance practices to protect sensitive information
- Maintain clear documentation of data pipelines, processes and systems to support knowledge sharing within the team
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across technology and business teams to understand data requirements and help deliver solutions
Are You Ready to Embrace the Challenge? We’re looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience or exposure to data engineering, data analytics, or a related technical field
- Full UK Driving Licence required
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Demonstrated exposure to data pipeline and ETL tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Databricks, API’s, Azure Functions)
- Basic programming experience in languages such as Python.
- An understanding of data concepts such as data modelling, data warehousing, or data lakes (desirable but not essential)
- Any exposure to DevOps Repos, Boards and Pipelines is a bonus
- Excellent attention to detail and creativity to design, develop and inform overall business strategy
- Ability to work collaboratively and is open to new ideas whilst appreciating the difference each person makes
