Position ID: J0426-0446
Employment Type: Full Time
Position Description:
At CGI, we design and deliver powerful data platforms that enable organisations to unlock insight, accelerate innovation, and achieve measurable business outcomes. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping scalable, cloud-based data ecosystems that transform how clients use and value their data. Working across modern data platform technologies (Azure/AWS etc), you will help build high-impact solutions while contributing to a culture that values ownership, encourages creative thinking, and supports continuous growth and collaboration. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects, influence technical direction, and deliver real-world impact in a fast-evolving data landscape.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee.
We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will design, build, and optimise end-to-end data platforms that enable high-quality, trusted data to drive decision-making and innovation. You will work closely with clients, analysts, and data scientists to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions, taking ownership of data pipelines, architectures, and governance practices while contributing to continuous improvement across platforms and processes.
You will also play an active role in shaping best practices, mentoring colleagues, and driving innovation across cloud-based data ecosystems, supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.

- Collaborate & Mentor across teams, supporting knowledge sharing and capability growth
- Improve & Innovate data platforms using modern tools and emerging technologies
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong experience in data engineering across modern cloud platforms, with a proven ability to design and deliver scalable data solutions. - You should have demonstrable experience in data engineering or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or equivalent scripting languages
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, MS Fabric, Informatica, Talend)
- Proven ability to design data architectures, pipelines, and models
