About the role
Data Quality Manager
The Mission
We aren’t just migrating legacy systems at PTSG; we are building the future. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Quality Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will be the guardian of our data assets, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, and engineering teams to identify data issues, implement quality rules, and drive a culture of data integrity. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who loves digging into complex datasets to find anomalies and can develop the technical skills to fix them.
This is a full time, permanent role, working 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You will be based from either our Altrincham office (WA15 8FH) or Castleford head office (WF10 5HW) on a hybrid basis (working from home with an office day approximately once a week).
What You’ll Do:
Data Profiling & Assessment
- Analyse source data to understand data structure, content, and quality
- Identify anomalies, duplicate records, missing values, and integrity issues within complex datasets.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine why data errors are occurring (e.g., system entry errors, migration issues, integration failures).
Quality Monitoring & Reporting
- Design and implement automated data quality rules and checks.
- Develop dashboards and scorecards to visualize data quality metrics (KPIs) for senior leadership.
- Monitor data quality trends over time and report on improvements or degradations.
Data Cleansing & Remediation
- Collaborate with data owners to define business rules for data correction.
- Execute data cleansing initiatives to fix legacy data issues.
- Coordinate with IT/Engineering to implement long-term fixes in upstream systems to prevent bad data at the source.
Data Governance Support
- Contribute to the development of the organization's Data Governance Framework.
- Maintain the Business Glossary and Data Dictionary to ensure standard definitions are used across the company.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure data requirements are met.
What we're looking for:
Must have:
- Relevant experience in data analysis, data quality, data migration, or master data management (MDM).
- Excel: Strong proficiency (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, (Power Query is an advantage)).
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize complex information and identify patterns.
- Attention to Detail: A rigorous approach to ensuring zero defects in critical data elements.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical data issues to non-technical business stakeholders clearly.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with colleagues at junior and senior level to embed data quality management as a “must have” competency in the business.
- Curiosity: A natural desire to ask "why" and dig until the root cause of an issue is found.
Nice to have or a keen willingness to learn:
- SQL: An understanding of SQL queries for data profiling and analysis is a plus but also willing to learn.
- Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Looker).
- Methodology: Familiarity with Data Quality dimensions (Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness, Uniqueness, Validity).
- Awareness of Data Quality/Governance tools (e.g., Informatica IDQ, Collibra, Aperture, Ataccama).
Benefits:
- A competitive salary
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Company pension scheme
- Life Assurance (3 x salary)
- Discounts on everyday shopping, fashion, tech, holidays, meals out, gyms & more
- Hybrid working
- A supportive, friendly office culture, and plenty of chances to learn
About PTSG. A short history – an incredible story
PTSG was founded in 2007 to fulfil an industry need for a single provider of multiple specialist services to the construction and FM sectors.
Since then, we’ve grown steadily, securing major new and renewed contracts that reinforce our role as a trusted, multi-service partner.
The Group, headquartered in Castleford, West Yorkshire, employs around 3,000 people in the UK and Europe. This staffing allows us to mobilise our experts to any site, regardless of location. Consequently, we serve more than 300,000 buildings for over 30,000 customers in a wide range of industry sectors.
Our multinational presence grew substantially with the acquisition of Flame Control in February 2024. Based in the municipality of Harderwijk, the company specialises in fire alarm systems, first aid, evacuation, extinguishing systems and extinguishing agents. Flame Control has a team of 40 specialists that work extensively across the Netherlands. Their specialists work seven days a week to improve fire safety in businesses and residential properties.
Recent national framework and specialist service agreements with Mitie, CBRE, Sodexo, Vinci, BNP Paribas Real Estate, ABM, ISS and others span a wide range of services:
- Fall protection and access and safety
- Electrical and lightning protection testing
- Specialist cleaning, maintenance, and façade access
- Fire solutions and compliance
- Water treatment and hygiene
Whether site-specific or nationwide, our packages deliver consistent, scalable service with precision and professionalism.
