Scope
As Data Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of site master data processes and governance within Microsoft Dynamics (D365). You’ll ensure the ERP system supports reliable planning, execution, reporting, and decision-making by maintaining high standards of data accuracy, integrity, and control.
You will act as the site subject matter expert for master data, leading governance, defining standards, and embedding consistent ways of working across functions including Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, Procurement, and Finance.
A key part of the role is coordinating and developing a network of super users, ensuring strong local capability, consistent processes, and effective support across the site. Your work will directly impact planning stability, inventory health, customer service, and operational performance.
Role Purpose
You will lead and own master data processes and governance in Microsoft Dynamics by setting standards, controlling changes, and enabling super users—ensuring ERP data is accurate, controlled, and fit for purpose.
You will play a critical role in supporting stable operations, reliable reporting, and compliance with safety, quality, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities

- Define, implement, and govern master data standards, processes, and controls across the site
- Lead data governance routines including ownership, approval workflows, change control, and audit trails
- Own the creation, maintenance, and validation of master data, including items, BOMs, routings, suppliers, customers, and planning parameters
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data reflects operational reality and business requirements before release
- Establish and manage data quality monitoring processes (e.g. validations, completeness checks, duplicate controls), driving corrective actions
- Lead and coordinate the site Super User network, providing training, guidance, and governance to ensure consistent ways of working
- Support business change activities (e.g. new products, supplier or packaging changes) by ensuring accurate and timely data setup
- Manage data migration and mass updates with strong controls, validation, and sign-off processes
- Support system upgrades and enhancements, including requirements gathering, testing (UAT), and deployment readiness
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including SOPs, process maps, and data standards
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, governance, and system usage across the site
- Ensure all activities align with safety, quality, food safety, and governance standards
What will you make successful
- Proven experience in ERP master data management and governance, ideally within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP systems)
- Ability to lead cross-functional processes and influence stakeholders to adopt standard ways of working
- Experience developing and supporting super user networks through training and coaching
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data-driven issues
- High attention to detail and a structured, disciplined approach to governance and compliance
- Strong communication skills, able to translate complex requirements into clear data standards
- Experience building data quality controls, validation processes, and monitoring routines
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query/Power Pivot desirable) and experience with data reporting tools such as Power BI is advantageous
- Background in FMCG or food manufacturing and understanding of audit, traceability, and quality requirements is beneficial
Working Conditions
This role operates in a food manufacturing environment with regular time on the factory floor and exposure to noise, dust (grain), moving machinery, temperature variation, and manual handling activities. Flexibility is required to support shift teams, critical incidents, shutdowns, trials, and business needs.
Right to work in the UK
In accordance with Home Office guidance successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. We have assessed this role and do not consider that we would be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route as the role does not meet the relevant Home Office criteria; the successful candidate therefore must be able to demonstrate their own right to work during the recruitment process without Sincereal sponsorship.
