We are recruiting a Senior Business Analyst to sit within the Strategy, Projects and Performance team. This role will work on corporate projects with a wide range of stakeholders including Property, Development, Technical and Customer Services teams. The Senior Business Analyst role will deliver and support their team to deliver analysis work for highly complex and high-profile projects, supporting large strategic change at MTVH.

A key focus for the role will be to lead the MTVH Business Analyst framework. This is the framework that guides and governs how Business Analysts work at MTVH including templates, documents, process, tools and techniques. It also has the responsibility for creating and maintaining a Business Analyst community pulling together Business Analysts from all across MTVH.

This role has direct line management of the team of Business Analysts within the Projects and Planning team and will support the strategic planning function in resource planning and the creation of Business Analyst work packages.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

  • Lead effective discussions to determine the vision for change with senior leaders
  • Analyse and clearly document highly complex business processes, information flows and data structures, working with colleagues to ensure all elements are captured to support wider service improvements and project delivery
  • Be the lead Business Analyst for the SPP team, providing direction in terms of standards of analysis, processes, and quality assurance
  • Support the Corporate Planning function through strategic analysis of inter-related activities across the Corporate Plan
  • Provide business analysis on major high profile and vastly complex programmes of work for projects within the Corporate Plan
  • Develop templates and ways of working for business analysis. Use and work within MTVH project methodologies and templates
  • Capture interpret and document complex business requirements through appropriate methods, and utilise user and performance data insight to inform decisions around system and process solutions
  • Plan and facilitate workshops, document the outcome actions and process / requirement documents in an appropriate format, with identifiable links back to the information source
  • Facilitate and lead discussions with business leads around business process change, providing appropriate challenge and analytical input and steering appropriate decision making
  • Proactively identify business process gaps, working with appropriate leads investigate and analyse operational issues and problems. Lead the business through identification of solutions and process improvements.
  • Lead the identification of business benefits and create business cases for proposed changes, clearly identifying measurable savings which can be tracked to delivery.
  • Build excellent relationships with key colleagues to facilitate effective collaborate working, influence key stakeholders with information from strategic analysis
  • Understand the goals and future vision of business areas and provide analytical input on projects or proposed changes to support delivery against wider business goals
  • Collaborate with and communicate effectively with business areas and technology to make sure business requirements are well documented, understood and acted upon appropriately
  • Lead and manage delivery for specific business change initiatives or workstreams within major projects, documenting process change and working with business leads to ensure changes are implemented
  • Maintain working knowledge of best practice in business analysis

Personal Competencies:

  • Expert working knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques
  • Ability to interpret highly complex data, identify trends and provide insight
  • Excellent core business process knowledge and a proven ability to apply this to business change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and plan complex work delivery within a broader project delivery timeline
  • Excellent core IT skills, including Microsoft Visio and excel
  • Thorough understanding and experience of project management and service improvement
  • Ability to lead and coach a team of business analysts to deliver quality business analysis

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience of managing a team including through periods of change
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of business analysis tools and techniques. An ability to clearly document business requirements and processes. You will need to be able to analyse data and requirements to provide insight and recommendations.
  • Proven experience in large and complex organisational wide change projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster good working relationships with a wider range of stakeholders as this role works cross functionally. You will have experience of dealing with senior stakeholders and Executive Sponsors.
  • You will have experience with building and developing a business analysis framework. This includes templates, documents, processes and a Business Analyst community. Proven experience as a line manager, being a mentor and role model for team members.
  • You will need to either have direct or relatable business experience and an affinity to the work of social housing.
