The South West Data Analysis and Intelligence Team is looking for a Senior Network Data and Intelligence Analyst to join the team.

The key focus of this role is to support regional Operations to improve performance by undertaking data analysis and creating reporting that delivers valuable insights to support decision-making.

This is a collaborative role that offers the opportunity to directly influence how data is used to improve safety, performance and customer experience.

  • Transform complex data into actionable insights that support safety, planning and operational decisions across the network
  • Analyse and interpret data from the region’s road network to identify patterns, trends and underlying causes that are affecting performance
  • Develop models and analytical approaches to support regional demand and performance monitoring
  • Use of ArcGIS tools to visualise and communicate spatial insights clearly and effectively
  • Collaborate with regional and national stakeholders to define data requirements and improve data quality and governance
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, customer experience and operational delivery through data-driven approaches

About you

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interrogate large and complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable intelligence
  • Strong experience of analysing datasets, using tools such as Excel, SQL and Power BI, to produce meaningful business insights through dashboards and reports
  • Extensive experience of producing geospatial analysis and visualisations in ArcGIS Pro; knowledge of Esri tools such as Experience Builder is desirable
  • Effective communicator who can present complex information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders across different levels and specialisms
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver against competing demands and tight deadlines

Operations is at the heart of keeping the strategic road network moving and ensuring our customers get the best possible experience when using our roads.

We address over 39,000 customer enquiries every month, plan and deliver all maintenance activities on the network, drive efficiencies and improvements across our systems and roads, and respond to incidents across 4,500 miles of motorways and major A-roads that we manage. All to make sure National Highways customers have safer, smoother, and more reliable journeys.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
